Moreno Valley, California, Selects Accela Civic Platform to Upgrade Technology Foundation

Accela Civic Platform Will Enable Moreno Valley to Streamline Operations
and Improve Services for Citizens and Businesses Alike

Accela, the leading provider of cloud-based civic engagement solutions for government, today announced that the City of Moreno Valley, California, has selected the Accela Civic Platform as its new software foundation.

“To provide our citizens, developers, business leaders and city council with the high standard of customer care they deserve, we must provide our managers and staff the best tools available,” said Steve Hargis, Technology Services Division Manager, City of Moreno Valley. “We sought out the most feature-rich product in the community development software market and found it in the Accela Civic Platform.”

The City of Moreno Valley is the second largest city in Riverside County, with a population of more than 198,000 residents. With Accela, the City aims to streamline some of its core processes and modernize the resources it offers the community.

Moreno Valley chose the Accela solutions to enhance city operations because it sought to improve the workflow of important functions such as scheduling, tracking and reporting. Equally important was Accela’s ability to help Moreno Valley give the community greater access to city services, which included select smartphone, tablet and web applications for city business like permits and inspections.

Running on the Civic Platform, Moreno Valley will take advantage of Accela solutions that include Land ManagementLegislative Management, Citizen Access, GIS and mobile capabilities. These Accela solutions will help Moreno Valley streamline critical government functions and save time and money for businesses, organizations and citizens alike. Because the Civic Platform is open and flexible, the City can easily add solutions for functions such as Citizen Relationship Management and Licensing and Case Management as it sees fit.

“We are excited to work with the City of Moreno Valley on its upgrade to the Accela Civic Platform,” said Maury Blackman, Accela President and CEO. “We’re proud to provide the City with the solutions it needs to enhance its service to citizens and build a more transparent and efficient community.”
